STRASBURG, Va. (May 19, 2011) – NiSource Gas Transmission & Storage’s
(NGT&S) Columbia Gas Transmission today announced that it will host an open
house in Front Royal, Va., to discuss proposed plans to install approximately
2.5 miles of new 24-inch diameter pipeline from its existing Nineveh Measuring
Station near the intersection of U.S. Route 522 and Success Road to the
Measurement and Regulation facility at the proposed new power generation station
in the Kelly’s Court area of Warren County, Va.
The Warren County Open House will be held on Wednesday, May 25, from 7:00 to
9:00 p.m. at the North Warren Volunteer Fire Department Celebration Hall at 89
Rockland Road, Front Royal, Va., 22630. This open house will provide an
opportunity for residents to stop by and meet the Columbia Gas project team,
learn specifics about the proposed project including environmental impact and
construction techniques, and ask questions about specific tracts of potentially
impacted land. Directly affected landowners have received invitations in the
mail, and all in the community are invited to attend.
Columbia Gas is a major provider of natural gas services to local gas
distribution companies serving Virginia and other surrounding states, and the
proposed expansion project is a part of the company’s commitment to meet the
energy needs of the region.
