HOUSTON (Jan. 14, 2011) – NiSource Gas Transmission & Storage (NGT&S) today announced changes in the company’s Engineering Services organization. Vice President of Engineering Shi-Lin Yeh, a 37-year member of the NiSource team, will retire effective March 31, 2011. Effective immediately, Chad Zamarin will assume the role of vice president of engineering and begin the transition process with responsibilities for system reliability, integrity management, and Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) compliance activities for NiSource’s interstate pipeline system.

Since first joining Columbia Gulf Transmission in 1974, Yeh has served in various project and engineering positions including his most recent as vice president. Shi Lin held a leadership role in the company’s response to rebuild Hartsville Station following the tornadoes in 2008 and has also been instrumental in planning and executing the new business model for engineering services including the a long-term alliance agreement with Willbros Group, Inc.

“I have enjoyed being part of an organization as dynamic as NGT&S,” said Yeh. “Throughout my more than three decades of service, I have seen the company grow into an industry leader in natural gas transmission and storage. I expect their success to continue due in large part to the professional excellence of its people. I will certainly miss daily interaction with this team.”

Zamarin joined NGT&S in 2009 as director of integrity management. Prior to his joining NiSource, Zamarin held positions at Duke Energy Gas Transmission, Panhandle Eastern, General Electric and most recently Colonial Pipeline. In his role at NGT&S, Zamarin has provided direction and leadership for restructuring the company’s Integrity Management Program, building and strengthening relationships with PHMSA, and implementing infrastructure enhancements to the pipeline system. “I look forward to building on the accomplishments we have achieved in pipeline safety and integrity management, and I am excited for the opportunity to also lead the NGT&S facility reliability program,” said Zamarin. “We have a great team at NGT&S, and I look forward to the great accomplishments that the integrated integrity and reliability team will deliver.”

“We congratulate and thank Shi-Lin Yeh for a tremendous career and for all of his contributions to the NiSource organization. He will be missed,” said Richard Keyser, senior vice president of engineering. “The promotion of Chad Zamarin will strengthen our engineering group and NiSource as a whole.”
